Counselling Services for young people age 11 to 19
NHS Wolverhampton CCG has commissioned www.kooth.com to provide a free, safe, confidential and non-stigmatised way for young people aged 11 to 19 to receive counselling, advice and support online. It is available from 12.00pm until 10.00pm Monday to Friday whilst at weekends (Saturday and Sunday) it’s available from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, 365 days per year and provides a much needed out of hours service for advice and help. Young people self-refer to the service via www.kooth.com

The NHS Diabetes Programme, with its partners Diabetes UK and NHS Digital, have developed new content on NHS.UK, which was formally NHS Choices – www.nhs.uk/conditions/type-1-diabetes
Domestic Abuse Services
Domestic Abuse Services: The Haven Wolverhampton is a charitable organisation that has been providing help and support to women and children affected by domestic abuse for over 40 years. They are most well known for providing refuge to women who have become homeless due to domestic violence, but their range of services stretches much further than this. The Community Advocacy Service provides advice to enable women to live independently in society. They offer support in terms of financial advice, confidence building and information on keeping safe. There are drop in sessions, as well as legal advice sessions. More information here.

Mental Health Services in Wolverhampton
Beam is a recently launched drop-in service in Wolverhampton. Their aim is to provide children and young people up to the age of 18 (up to the age of 25 for care leavers or anyone with a disability), parents/ carers & professionals with advice, signposting and support with any concerns relating to mental and emotional wellbeing.
Their team of Youth Workers, Therapists and trained Wellbeing Volunteers offer children and young people guidance and support with their mental and emotional health. They provide caring advice and guidance in particular areas including anxiety, anger, mood management and self-esteem. Located in comfortable surroundings, they have a variety of online resources that can be accessed, if young people just want to browse some information. They also run a wide range of therapeutic and wellbeing groups and workshops for young people and parents/carers to access.
If you think Beam may be useful for you, your child, or a young person you are working with, feel free to drop-in. There is no need to book an appointment - you can simply drop in and start receiving support when you need it.
